What is it about?
Its the official month celebration of the culture, traditions, and history of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States. In 1990, a bill passed by Congress was signed by George H.W. Bush to extend Asian-American Heritage Week to a Month. May was officially designated as Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month in 1992.

To commemorate APAHM in San Angelo, The Association of Asian-American Women has put together an array of cultural display at the Stephens Central Library downtown for the whole community to see.
The display is available for viewing for the entire month of May. Go check it out!
"The purpose of the AAAW is to promote and nurture Asian culture and heritage through education and fellowship while contributing to enhance positive growth of our community. "
This organization is working diligently to establish a physical location for their activities and be able to have a culture center for everyone to enjoy.
